What is the Young Stroke Group and why do they meet?
The Young Stroke Group is designed for stroke survivors between the ages of 20 and 60. Currently, we have about 40 members, with 15 to 20 regularly attending our weekly meetings.
Most of our members are high-functioning stroke survivors who are actively rebuilding their lives — many are either already working or planning to return to work soon. The majority are also driving or preparing to resume driving. This group provides a supportive environment for individuals who are moving forward and adapting to life after stroke.
What can I expect when I join a Young Stroke Group meeting?
We meet on Zoom, and there are typically between 14-20 stroke survivors joining weekly. Everyone turns on their camera so we can see each other. We talk about brain health, emotional support and social relationships. We open with conversation, then there is a 20 minute presentation followed by 10 minutes of Q&A.
